Dcity Helper #002 Technology Gap at Onealfa's city 955% APR!

in LeoFinance11 months ago (edited)

Some time ago i started helping Dcity newcomers in collaboration with @ecoinstant, who at that time was Dcity president. When @thegoliath took over the presidency, i continued giving away basic homes to any player the president pointed out to me.

At the same time i have been helping @jrcornel with advice on how to build a Dcity Powercity and i have enjoyed watching him climb the ranks (currently 10th) ever since.

As i am comfortably ranking 1st, it seemed to me that helping other players would be a good way to give back a little to the game and i decided to turn my ad-hoc giveaways and advice into a more structured form: Dcity Helper.

In this series I will be making regular posts, where i look at cities of newcomers and smaller players and give them a little nudge in the right direction, This means i will give them some free cards, which best benefits their cities, as well as some unsollicited advice on how to best, imho, build and develop their city.

In post i am taking a look at @onealfa, He is a hard core Hiver and LEO whale and as he is an investor, he would probably appreciate some tweeks in order to maximize his SIM earnings on Dcity.

This is a screenshot of his city in it's current state.

The first thing that pops out is that his population is in the “red”. This means that there is not enough workforce for all the buildings and a closer look shows that one of his university's is currently inactive. This can be easily solved by adding 1 basic home.

Just as many other smaller players, @onealfa has not yet given much thought to technology. With the current market prices for 1st and 2nd tier technology, it is now even for smaller cities interesting to invest in some technology cards.

Right now, he has 9 factories. A basic Automation card adds 3 sim per factory, giving Onealfa an additional 27 SIM daily income. The basic automation card only costs 2,4 swap.hive at the moment. If we calculate 30% taxes, those 27 sim daily add up to 6900 SIM over a whole year, which is 30.35 hive at today's rate.

This means a whopping 955% apr on a 2.4 hive investment.

Also, Onealfa has 5 solar plants and 14 wind turbines. The Eco Energy card adds 2 SIM , which comes down to 38 SIM daily. The cheapest Eco Energy card costs 4.9 swap.hive right now.
If we calculate again 30% taxes, those 38 sim daily add up to 9709 SIM over a whole year, which is 42,712,9 hive at today's rate.

This means a whopping 873% apr on a 4,9 hive investment.

Lastly, Onealfa has 3 farms. The GMO Farming card adds 4 SIM income daily (but does reduce popularity with 3), giving him 12 SIM extra income daily. GMO Farming costs only 2.6 swap.hive on the market, so if we calculate 30% taxes, this amounts to 3066 SIM per year.

This comes down to 13,49 hive and a 518% apr on a 2.6 hive investment.

I recommend all smaller players to look at these cards and do the math on their own cities.

I have given Onealfa the following cards in order to maximize that sweet SIM.

  1. 1x Basic Home
  2. 1x GMO Farming
  3. 1x Basic Automation
  4. 1x Eco Energy

The total value of these 4 cards is around 12 HIVE and that is a steal when you consider how much extra income they generate.

Here is a screenshot of the new stats.

Goshhh... O must be so dumb.... Have to look into all this closer... Once I'm back home. Walking in the park now, just checking Leo pages on my mobile.
Thanks a million @luca-legend !

Not knowing something doesn't make you dumb.
There are a lot of finesses in the game and it's easy to miss them.

Keep an eye out for future Dcity Helper posts, you might discover some more useful tips on how to best play the game.

65 boost to SIM, that's nice and will keep growing as more of the cards benefitting from the tech cards you sent, arrive in the city to boost income more.

Yes, a lesson here for many more smaller players.
Tech = good.

great analysis and so nice of you to help players building their city. I also have my dcity with name @gungunkrishu. Can you help me or provide suggestion as to how can I bring my unemployment down with low investment as possible.. Thanks and Best Regards

Thanks. I think I will do a post one of these days where i take a look at a few cities of already a bit larger players (you don't really qualify as a newcomer or a small city ;-)

I will include your city in that post.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Amazing. If you are up to, can you please look into my dCity and suggest. Thanks for your effort and suggestions.

At first glance it looks like you got a pretty decent city there for the most part. One of the things i'd like to get into in this series is training and you are lacking a bit there. We may see you sometime soon in another Dcity Helper post.

Thanks. I am looking forward to reading your posts. Followed you so that I don't miss the posts.

Very helpful post, can you analyze my city: rollandthomas?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Although you hardly qualify as a small player @rollandthomas, i think your city should be featured in one of my next posts. Dcity is all about balance and your city could use some balancing. ;-)

Glad you think my posts are helpful. We are close to the 3rd edition, which will bring even more game finesses, so i'll try to keep providing that educational value. ** grin **

Glad you are posting about #dcity.
You keep the top spot for a while.
What do you know about third edition
for the incoming update?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha, yes and i intend to keep it for a whole lot longer (be prepared for some serious battling @ecoinstant )

Well Gerber keeps his secrets close to his chest, but reading between the lines, i would say rather sooner than later.

Could you kindly take a look and recommend any improvement to successforall's city. Thanks.

This is awesome info. Thanks for sharing!

Great to learn from the owner of the biggest dcity in the land.

Would love to be in a DCity helper post, that being said, I think I've already been a recipient of some of those basic homes.

Only been on Dcity for only a month and try to do an update post at least once every two weeks:

  1. I Created a DCity
  2. Joining the top 500 cities
  3. I Sold My Social Aid Office

Planning to do a post later this week to talk about my recently received MIC, my new background and getting my first dcity rewards payout.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Happy to help.
Your city is pretty well balanced, so there's not a lot of educational value atm, but i might be doing a post soon on the benefits of having a MIC for smaller cities. If i do i will surely keep you in mind.
